Li Fengping is an attractive, seemingly innocent 25-year-old female nurse in Guangxi Province, mainland China. Addicted to gambling, she suffered losses and borrowed money from a male doctor who worked in the same hospital.
Called “Dr Luo”, 50-year-old Luo Yuanjian had a condition for lending Li the money to settle her gambling debt. She must have sex with him. Li agreed, but as her situation got worse and she asked for more, Luo also became more demanding. Unable to tolerate the sex slavery, the nurse strangled Luo Yuanjian while he was drunk, then chopped up the body, cooked the parts and flushed them down the toilet. She was sentenced to death.
According to media reports, this case occurred in March 2020. Li Fengping, 25, worked as a nurse at a hospital in Yulin, Guangxi. First exposed to the many temptations of the world outside school, she got into the habit of gambling online.
“I was not prudent with my earnings and I was soon unable to make ends meet. I had to find someone to borrow money, but no one was willing to help. In the end, I had to ask Luo Yuanjian, a 50-year-old orthopaedic surgeon for help.”
Although Luo promised to lend her the money, on the condition that Li must have sex with him three times a week. She was not allowed to have boyfriends or contact other men. Li promptly accepted the offer, but she continued to gamble. She eventually accumulated a gambling debt amounting to 200,000 yuan. She approached Luo to borrow money again. Luo but he had new conditions. He asked Li to sign an IOU of 300,000 RMB. On top of that, she had to meet him in bed whenever he asked for it.
After Li Fengping accepted the conditions, she asked Luo to bring the money to her rented apartment. The two of them consumed alcohol and had sex. Luo then fell asleep. The more Li thought about her situation, the more indignant she felt. She picked up a charging cable and strangled Luo. After she killed Luo, she chopped up his body, cooked the parts and then flushed them down the toilet to destroy the evidence.
The next day, she went to work in the hospital seemingly unaffected by the heinous deed. Li’s ruthlessness contrasted strongly with her innocent looks. Below is an exchange between Li and a friend. She was not only unrepentant, she seemed very proud of her “accomplishment”.
After the trial, the Intermediate People’s Court of Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region sentenced Li to death and a fine of 30,000 yuan. Li was also ordered to pay more than 98,000 yuan stolen from Luo to the family of the deceased.
